Yes, you read the headline correctly! Linda O’Sick, a Social Day Service staff member has developed her own game called “The Ladybug Shuffle”. She came up with the concept while enroute to Vegas on her honeymoon. (Boy, she really does love her job — even thinking of Fort Hudson while on vacation!) The game offers a wonderful interactive approach for seniors in the program. Board squares require players to do FUN activities such as “sing your favorite song”, “march in place”, or “Tell something you bought at last shopping trip”. The added benefit is that the game allows for a creative and fun way for range of motion, memory enhancement, getting to know you exercises….and just plain old having FUN!
