Fort Hudson has recently filled the position of Corporate Compliance Officer, and we would like to officially welcome Nasar Islam to The Fort! So that everyone can get to know our newest team member, we caught up with him to ask a few questions…
Q. what was your impression of Fort Hudson after Day 1? “I felt welcomed! I immediately recognized that there is a strong, competent team here. I was impressed with the longevity & years of service most of the staff have – clearly it must be a great place to work.”
Q. What is one goal you wish to meet in the next 6 months? “To help create the job of Corporate Compliance Officer. Since it’s a new position, there is much to be done to shape it. I want people to know me and feel comfortable coming to me. I firmly believe in an open door policy, and also believe in getting out of the office and meeting people on the units. When it comes to communication, I think face to face is always better than
e-mail.”
Q. Hobbies and Interests? “I enjoy the outdoors. In fact, that was part of the draw for relocating here. There is so much to do in this region. In college I was a competitive tennis player. Now, I am trying to master the game of golf. I definitely need all the help I can get…so if anyone is out there & willing to teach me, let me know and I’ll meet you at the driving range!”
Q. What’s a little known fun fact about yourself? “I like chicken wings! (he is a Buffalo NYer) I’m wondering who has the best wings in this area? Send me any recommendations, I’m willing to test try them all!”
Q. Okay, most important question of the day………Yankees or Red Sox?! “Yankees, no question about that!” (there will be a happy Mike E. walking the halls after this!)
