Fort Hudson wishes to officially welcome Barbara Celeste, RN to The Fort! Barbara will be responsible for aspects of staff education across all departments. In addition, she is responsible for Infection Control. We thought we would help everyone to get to know her better by asking a few questions…
Q. How long have you been in the field of heathcare? “I have 30+ years in healthcare, and have always enjoyed it. After many years at one organization, I decided it was time for a change. I have no regrets on making the move to Fort Hudson!”
Q. On that subject, what was your “first impression” of The Fort? “I think its a beautiful campus. The first thing I noticed was its sheer size – it is taking me awhile to figure out where every hallway leads! But, I have been absolutely impressed with the number of happy faces I see each day. The smiles, the laughter – it clearly is a place where people enjoy their work. I am also impressed with the advanced technology Fort Hudson uses, specifically Electronic Medical Records.”
Q. What’s a little known fun fact about yourself? “I’m a sports fan! In fact, I play on a summer softball league myself. But my kids have also been very involved in sports, so I’m definitely a sports mom! And my favorite vacation spot is Maine — lobster, family, & a jazz band…it doesn’t get any better!”
Q. What are your goals for the next 6 months? “I want to use my 30+ years of experience to help grow the staff development program. I am a firm believer that you are never too old to learn. I want to walk through the campus and hear staff say to each other ‘hey, I learned something new today!!’. I want to see staff raise the bar to their daily work experience.”
Q. Okay, most important question of the day………favorite football team? “The Buffalo BILLS — and yes, they even won their game this past weekend!”
WELCOME TO THE TEAM Barb, it’s great to have you with us!
