Fort Hudson recently filled the post of S & G-Wing Social Worker, and we would like to officially welcome Amanda Bromley to The Fort!
We thought we would help everyone to get to know her better by asking a few questions…
Q. How did you find yourself in the career of Social Worker? “I have been working with seniors since I used to volunteer @ Fort Hudson as a young girl. My mom, and other family (grandmother M. Bromley and great aunt H. Heed are both auxiliary members) encouraged me to pursue my interest.”
Q. What would you like to tell Residents & Families about yourself? “I want to be an advocate and always pursue the best interests of the seniors. I am always available to assist anyone if they need me. I think I’m somewhat unique for my generation that I have such a desire to work with seniors. As I often say to my friends, seniors aren’t old – they are just older than us!”
Q. What’s a little known fun fact about yourself? “I’m a tent camper and a hiker! The best place, to date, that I’ve camped is a new landtrust in Saranac NY.”
Q. What are your goals for the next 6 months? “I want to get to know residents, families and staff on a more personal level. I want to become involved in activities throughout the building.”
Q. Okay, most important question of the day………Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, or Oatmeal Raisin?! “Traditional Chocolate Chip wins for me —- and my grandma, who by the way happens to be one of my best friends, makes them the best! (I do believe that it sounds like a challenge to Holly V. to take up!)
WELCOME TO THE TEAM AMANDA — we are thrilled to have you on board!
