Fort Hudson’s application to develop a Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA) covering Warren and Washington Counties has received recommendation for approval by the Establishment Committee of the NYS Public Health Committee. On June 6th, the final approval is expected by the full Public Health Committee.
Fort Hudson submitted its application in the summer of 2012 as DOH began allowing new applications – the first time in over 20 years. The CHHA program will provide professional nursing and therapy services on a short term basis, typically following hospitalization. This program will complement the existing home care programs in place at Fort Hudson and significantly expand the breadth of services available.
Upon final approval, the program development process will begin with implementation expected by January 2014. Applications are now being accepted for Director and supervisory positions.
