Beth Bruno, Director of Home and Community Services, has been selected by the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (NYAHSA) to receive the Professional of the Year award! According to NYAHSA – This award honors a person who has made significant contributions to the well-being of the elderly or chronically ill in the community in which he or she works. Community involvement, as well as outstanding commitment to his/her organization is extremely important.
Beth was nominated by her staff, who wished to recognize her 27 years at Fort Hudson, and the leadership she provides to the home and community services at Fort Hudson. As stated in the Nomination, “Beth has continuously, through every step of her personal and professional career development, displayed the very highest quality of professionalism.” She will be the first to say that it is not her, but that of her team that makes the difference. While this is much truth to this statement, it is her innate qualities – a combination of experienced expertise, confident leadership and genuine excitement for her work – which makes Beth the ideal face of Fort Hudson”.
Her nomination was reviewed by a committee of NYAHSA member representatives from across New York, and selected as one of two to receive this recognition from a large number of nominations.
Beth will be presented with her award at the NYAHSA Annual Meeting and Conference in June in Saratoga Springs. CONGRATULATIONS BETH!
