“When I was asked to do a tribute to Fort Hudson for their 40th anniversary I was both touched and honored. Personally, this was a very emotional task for me. As an employee of Fort Hudson, this organization has been a part of my life for the past thirty years. I have taken great pride in my job and felt valued as an employee.
A few years ago, my mother became a resident at the nursing home. I knew that mom would not only receive excellent care, she would be treated as a member of the “Fort Hudson family”. She enjoyed her time at Fort Hudson as much as I have enjoyed mine.
As I now prepare to retire from Fort Hudson, I know that when I walk out the doors on my last day it will be with a heavy heart, for I have evolved as a person much along the same way Fort Hudson has evolved into a great health care organization. Happy Anniversary Fort Hudson…and special thanks for being a valuable part of this community!”
- Chris Bickford, Medical Secretary, Fort Hudson Nursing Center
“More than fifty years ago I had the pleasure of knowing two gentlemen, Mr. Fred Viele and Mr. Dan Hayes, who were instrumental in the origination of the Fort Hudson nursing facility. At that time the nursing home was being discussed as a “possibility”, something to strive for in order to better our community.
Since then much has taken place at Fort Hudson. It is impossible to emphasize how much it means to a family that when a need arises there is such a facility to take such wonderful care of our loved ones. It is indeed gratifying to know that the devoted staff is always present and willing to provide that something extra- doing whatever is necessary to care for all the residents. This organization is truly a Godsend.”
– Cy Bertok, Sr.
“Fort Hudson allowed my sister and I to reside on the same campus, even though we have different needs. Having an organization that can help family stay together during ‘their golden years’ is a great benefit to this community. I find comfort knowing that my sister received excellent nursing care, and I have a sense of comfort and security knowing that Fort Hudson will be here if I ever need services. That’s why I personally contribute to Fort Hudson. I wouldn’t live any other place.”
- Mrs. Jean N. Thomas
“…I wouldn’t change a thing about my choice of Fort Hudson’s Rehabilitation Program…I’d return there again in a heartbeat if I needed in-patient therapy again.”
- Michael Pinto
